BTS’s newly announced world tour has quickly sparked a lot of conversations regarding concert ticket prices. As one of the most anticipated tours of the year, the group was bound to become a hot topic.
While HYBE initially faced criticism over high prices for South Korean stops, it has become clear that international fans are dealing with similar, and in some cases worse, issues.
HYBE Slammed For Absurd BTS World Tour Ticket Prices
The Mexico City stop has drawn particular attention after fans reported that a large portion of tickets appeared on resale sites almost immediately, listed at extreme prices. Many fans say tickets were being resold even before the official presale window opened, raising serious concerns about how those tickets were obtained in the first place.
I think some of you are not on the side of mexican armys but if you all think it was hard to get US tickets then you don’t wanna know how is going for them, Ticketmaster mexico sold tickets to re scalpers personally when this presale was only for the membership. This is crazy.

as a mexican army i ask armys around the world to help us, more than half of the tickets released on presale are being sold on reseller sites at crazy prices, they were being sold even before armys could access the presale #BTS_WORLDTOUR_MEXICOCITY pic.twitter.com/JjIAFhpYjK

Based on many fans’ posts, only a small percentage of local fans were able to secure tickets during the Weverse presale, despite all dates selling out quickly.
Evidence is everywhere. Weverse presale tickets sold out on the 3 dates of the #BTS_WORLDTOUR_MEXICOCITY however surveys on 2 Mexican Fanbases only 19% and 20% got a ticket. If MX-ARMY did not acquire any ticket, then who bought them? Yes, resellers. https://t.co/e7qhBAWUdJ pic.twitter.com/S0oihbfQvi

Ticketmaster has reportedly maintained that no irregularities occurred during the presale process. However, fans have shared consistent accounts of error messages, sudden access issues, and seats appearing available but becoming impossible to purchase at checkout. Many describe the Mexico City presale as “suspicious from the start,” especially when compared to other tour stops.
I queued for Toronto, Stanford, and Mexico City, and man…Mexico City was suspicious from the start.
1) Error msg: didn’t sign up for this pre-sale
2) 5-10 minutes before pre-sale, I refreshed and got into the waiting room
3) Seats shown as available, I wasn’t able to purchase+ https://t.co/gmOJclnhld pic.twitter.com/4YQWNsnYEf

The frustration has only grown as resale prices continue to climb. Tickets originally sold for a few hundred dollars are now being listed for thousands, with even the cheapest seats reaching extreme amounts.
Yeah this is crazy. So you’re telling me the ticket I got for 285 is now going between 1k to 6k in reselling sites??? This honestly was not only the most stressful ticket experience I had but also the most unfair one. I highly believe I got tickets by mere luck. Tm is a fraud https://t.co/aDrzG7NKGH

It was TM who gave the resellers those tickets. Help us spreading this so BH and HYBE can intervene. Those are nosebleeds for $2000 usd and VIP for $5000 usd. And no, it wasn’t because of the membership. It’s all TM’s doing. @HYBEOFFICIALtwt @BIGHIT_MUSIC @hybe_latam https://t.co/RRqukV47ra pic.twitter.com/jwsgl0vi0o

Fans say the experience felt stressful, unfair, and driven more by luck than by any legitimate queue or membership system.
As backlash grows, fans are calling on BigHit Music and HYBE to step in, investigate the ticketing process, and take stronger action against scalping.
