XLOV‘s Wumuti is earning praise after quickly stepping in to defend a fan from criticism caused by a mistranslation.
The situation began when a fan sent Wumuti a message in Chinese saying, “Muti, eat lighter foods.” The fan’s original intention was reportedly to encourage the idol to eat milder, less spicy foods for the sake of her health.
However, the platform’s automatic translation rendered the message as “Muti, eat a lighter diet!” The wording immediately raised concerns among some fans, who interpreted it as telling Wumuti to lose weight or go on a diet. A fan on X even uploaded their initial angry response.

As the misunderstanding began spreading, Wumuti noticed the confusion and quickly addressed it herself.
“I think the translation here is a bit off! Since I eat spicy food a lot, they were just looking out for me and telling me to eat something mild sometimes lol.”
Fans were relieved to see Wumuti immediately clarify the situation rather than allowing the fan to become the target of criticism.
