Recently, BTS made headlines after Seoul announced extensive safety and traffic measures ahead of the group’s comeback performance at Gwanghwamun Square.

The city revealed that nearby subway stations would temporarily skip stops, bus routes would be rerouted, and thousands of personnel would be deployed to manage the massive crowds expected for the event. The announcement sparked debate online, with some netizens expressing concern about the inconvenience to residents and commuters in the busy downtown area.

As discussions spread across online communities, some netizens began comparing the situation to an incident involving BLACKPINK’s Lisa during the filming of her music video for “Rockstar.”

According to a report by the South China Morning Post, Lisa reportedly compensated local shop owners when she filmed the music video on Yaowarat Road in Bangkok’s Chinatown. The filming took place from 2 to 5am, but businesses in the area had to temporarily stop operations during the shoot.

To make up for the disruption, Lisa reportedly paid each shop owner 20,000 baht (around $600 USD). The amount is said to exceed the average monthly salary in Thailand, drawing praise from many for the gesture. She also reportedly gave 1,000 baht (about ₩37,000 KRW (about $25.20 USD)) to pedestrians as an apology for any inconvenience caused by restricted access to the area.

Following the report, some Korean netizens began comparing the two situations online.

    • When I first saw the news, I thought that she was the real definition of world class.
    • Wow, Lisa is f*cking cool. Now this is world class.
    • This is the true world class. BTS pales in comparison.
    • Wow, so cool!
    • I know that’s right!

As the conversation continues online, both situations have highlighted just how large-scale entertainment events can impact surrounding communities.
