Bloodhounds Woo Do-hwan, Lee Sang-yi get ready to rumble with Rain

    by tccolb

New character stills have dropped in the sparring ring on Netflix, preparing Woo Do-hwan (Made in Korea) and Lee Sang-yi (Good Boy) for the looming showdown in Bloodhounds 2 next month.

Through the battles won in Season 1 – along with the losses they faced – our returning leads, Kim Gun-woo (Woo Do-hwan) and Hong Woo-jin (Lee Sang-yi) have grown from boys to heroes. Three years have since passed and Gun-woo’s boxer career has continued to be on the rise. And though Woo-jin is still passionate about boxing, he has shifted goals to better support Gun-woo by becoming his trusted coach, dedicating himself instead to protecting Gun-woo as well as (Gun-woo’s) Mom Yoon Yoo-sun (Beyond the Bar).

However, our found family’s hard-earned happiness is about to be threatened once again, when the dark clouds of Rain (Red Swan) roll in with the second season and chase the sun away. There was a time when Baek Jung (Rain) had dreamed of becoming a boxing champion. But when he failed, he created his own underground league where Jung could rule as the king. And his new target, of course, is none other than Kim Gun-woo.

It’s not just Jung, though, that our heroes will have to face as this league has spread across international waters, generating mass amounts of revenue via an illegal betting system. This all involves dangerous parties who naturally wield power through the use of money and violence. And we can expect to see Tae Won-seok (The Judge Returns) and Choi Siwon (DNA Lover) reprising their roles from the crime-action and webtoon-adaptation’s first season. New faces in the second season include Chansung (Ms. Incognito) and Lee Shi-un (Good Partner).

With filmmaker Kim Joo-hwan (Office Black Belt) remaining at the helm, handling directing as well as scripts, Netflix’s upcoming Bloodhounds 2 is slated to launch on Friday, April 3.
