Singer Ailee opened up about the side effects she experienced during the IVF preparation process.

In the video, Ailee and Choi Si Hoon shared an update on their preparations for the IVF procedure. Choi Si Hoon said, “We’ve completed the egg retrieval now. Between the steps before and after the retrieval, I think she had a harder time after the retrieval.”
Ailee expressed her difficulties, saying, “Actually, there wasn’t any pain after the retrieval, but I felt gassy and had consistent swelling.” Choi Si Hoon explained, “There’s medication you take after the retrieval. That medicine can have side effects like constipation.” In response, Ailee was surprised, saying, “They warned me that I could gain about 2 to 3 kilograms. I really did gain weight.”
In particular, Choi Si Hoon mentioned, “The worst side effect was having trouble going to the bathroom.”
Ailee added, “This varies depending on the woman. The amount of egg retrieval affects how much gas accumulates in the abdomen and other symptoms.” Choi Si Hoon sympathized, saying, “Since she had a lot of eggs retrieved, it might have been more painful.”
Ailee married actor-turned-entrepreneur Choi Si Hoon, who appeared on Netflix‘s Single’s Inferno in 2024. The couple is currently undergoing IVF treatments for their second child.
