Ethan Juan (also known as Ethan Ruan) is a 43-year-old Taiwanese actor and model who made his acting debut in the 2004 series Michael the Archangel. He achieved breakout success in Fated to Love You (2008), the highest-rated Taiwanese idol drama of all time, and he has been acting ever since.
When he entered the entertainment industry, he started a romantic relationship with his then-manager, Chang Te Lin, who is 12 years older than him. Their romance ended in 2005, when Juan fell for his Green Forest co-star Esther Liu, and resumed after Liu’s agency opposed his relationship with Liu.
Juan dated Joanna Shao, a wealthy woman four years his senior, from 2006 to 2007. In 2008, Shao claimed that, for about a month, Juan had dated her and actress Tiffany Hsu at the same time. His relationship with Hsu went public in 2007 and ended in 2015, five years after Juan was caught two-timing Hsu with another woman in 2010. In 2022, Juan confirmed that he was dating an office worker, and their relationship ended five months later.

Last October, Juan’s love life made headlines once again. On October 1, 2025, Taiwanese media reported that Juan had been dating an heiress from China for over a year. She is said to come from a wealthy, influential family.
