Will he be making his return to the scene?

Ravi, formerly of the group VIXX, who previously sparked controversy over faking an epilepsy diagnosis and violating military service law, has posted an apology alongside news of his discharge from alternative military service.

On March 27, 2026 (KST), the disgraced K-Pop idol shared a lengthy apology on his social media, stating, “It’s been a while since I’ve greeted you.”

Ravi, who began serving in October 2022, had his service interrupted during his trial. He explained that afterward, he completed the remainder of his service period in accordance with the Military Manpower Administration’s rulings and instructions.

He stated, “I feel deeply ashamed of myself for making excuses based on my personal circumstances and environment in the hope of gaining understanding,” adding, “I sincerely apologize once again to those who were hurt by my wrongdoing. I will continue to learn and discipline myself in order to live as a better person.”

Hello, this is Ravi. It’s been a while since I last greeted you.

While serving as a public service worker starting in October 2022, I was put on trial for violating the Military Service Act, and my service was suspended during that process. Afterward, I completed the remainder of my service period in accordance with the Military Manpower Administration’s decisions and instructions, and as of December 13, 2025, I have been officially discharged.

Throughout this process, I reflected on myself and realized how deeply ashamed I am for making excuses based on my personal circumstances and environment in hopes of receiving understanding, at a time when I should have been holding myself accountable. I also came to understand that my cowardly choice could cause harm and hurt to others.

I would like to once again sincerely apologize to those who were hurt by my wrongful actions. Moving forward, I will continue to learn and discipline myself in order to become a better person.

    Thank you.

    — Ravi

Previously, Ravi was indicted in 2022 for conspiring with a military service broker to obtain a false medical diagnosis by pretending to have epilepsy. He was charged with attempting to evade military service and was sentenced to one year in prison, suspended for two years.
