Park Bo-young and Kim Sung-chul capture treasure on Gold Land
by tccolb
With a hefty pile worth 150 billion(!) won up for grabs on Disney+’s shadowy Gold Land, the perilous game is on in the crime-action’s first video teaser for Park Bo-young (Our Unwritten Seoul) and Kim Sung-chul (Boyfriend on Demand) to try and claim the shiny loot.
But first, we back track to Kim Hui-joo’s (Park Bo-young) humble origins when all she wanted was to live like everyone else around her, an ordinary life with ordinary joys. Boyfriend Lee Hyun-wook (Shark – The Storm) then becomes her catalyst, when he makes the oh-so-very-suspicious request for Hui-joo to authorize the fancy coffin that’s being flown out from the airport, where she just so happens to work as security check personnel.
Something must have gone awry, though, because the coffin ends up in Hui-joo’s possession. And when she finds the hidden gold inside, her shock quickly turns to greed, reasoning that, ‟It doesn’t belong to anyone anyway, so why can’t I keep it?”
Suffice to say, all sorts of seedy characters are now on Hui-joo’s tail and the enraged gangster casino director Lee Kwang-soo (The Manipulated) sends his minion employee Woo-ki (Kim Sung-chul) to recover the stolen stacks of gold. As it turns out, Hui-joo and Woo-ki know each other from childhood and she proposes a partnership, offering him a third of the shares. But can either of our leads be trusted? We won’t know until the story unfolds.
Also starring corrupted police detective Kim Hee-won (Han River Police) and Hui-joo’s troubled mom Moon Jung-hee (The Practical Guide to Love), the supporting cast includes Lee Seol (Our Movie) and Choi Deok-moon (Surely Tomorrow) among others.
Directed by PD Kim Sung-hoon (A History of Losers, Chief Detective 1958) with writing by Hwang Jo-yoon (Rich Man/i>), the 10-episode thriller will be airing two episodes weekly starting April 29 next month.
