BTS has a dedicated security team that protects them from crowds and other hazards while travelling. However, according to Korean media reports, HYBE assigned BTS’s team to a female idol who was rumored to be a member of their new girl group.

On August 27, 2021, nine months before LE SSERAFIM‘s debut in May of 2022, Korean media reported that Sakura arrived at Incheon International Airport in Seoul, South Korea, at around 7 PM KST.

Shortly after, HYBE released a statement to OSEN neither confirming nor denying the reports of Sakura’s arrival.

Japanese media outlet WoW Korea via Newsen had previously reported that Sakura had signed a contract with HYBE. Based on this report, one of Sakura’s representatives also confirmed the signing.
Miyawaki Sakura signed a contract with HYBE and will depart from Japan and head to Korea within August.

At the time, reports were swirling that HYBE was attempting to recruit Sakura alongside fellow IZ*ONE member Chaewon to join their company to lead their then-upcoming girl group. And turns out, those rumors were true!
