According to Star News on the 8th, it has been confirmed that after much consideration, Kwon Eunbi recently decided not to move to Galaxy Corporation.

Previously, Kwon Eunbi chose not to renew her exclusive contract with her former agency Woollim Entertainment as it was ending, and had been exploring the possibility of signing with a new agency. Galaxy Corporation was the leading candidate.

Until recently, both sides had been positively discussing the exclusive contract amid Galaxy Corporation’s active pursuit, but differences arose during the final detailed negotiations, leading to the deal falling through.

Galaxy Corporation is Korea’s first AI entertainment tech company, expanding its business by combining advanced technologies such as AI and robotics with entertainment content. It also attracted attention as the new home for G-Dragon of BIGBANG, a top-tier second-generation K-pop idol, after ending his relationship with YG Entertainment.

Following G-Dragon’s recruitment, Galaxy Corporation accelerated its lineup strengthening by signing stars in the entertainment industry such as singer Kim Jong Kook, actor Song Kang Ho, and SHINee’s Taemin.

Kwon Eunbi debuted in 2014 and rose to fame as a member of IZ*ONE through Mnet’s audition program Produce 48 in 2018. After IZ*ONE’s disbandment, she transitioned to a solo career.

She notably stood out on the stage of the summer’s representative music festival Waterbomb, earning the nickname “Waterbomb Goddess.” Her glamorous figure and captivating stage presence garnered attention, solidifying her strong position.

On March 31, Kwon Eun i personally announced her departure from Woollim Entertainment, saying, “I have ended my exclusive contract with the agency that has been with me for a long time. From my trainee days until now, it has been a precious and valuable journey with people who worked hard for me. The moments on stage and all the times spent worrying and striving together will remain a great gift to me. I sincerely thank all the members of Woollim Entertainment who have been with me.”

She added, “I am also truly grateful to the fans who have always supported and uplifted me. Thanks to you, I was able to endure any moment and move forward. Now, I stand at a new path carrying the love of many. Whatever path I meet, I will remember all I have learned and the abundant love I received from you and take a step forward.”

Woollim Entertainment also stated, “We inform you that Kwon Eunbi’s exclusive contract has ended. After long discussions, we mutually agreed to conclude the contract, respecting each other’s opinions. We sincerely thank Kwon Eunbi for her constant efforts and diverse performances during the time she was with us.”
