TWICE’s Momo recently opened up about a painful health issue during the group’s North American tour, and the response has been intense.

Momo revealed that she had to suddenly get a tooth extracted while in Chicago after suffering severe pain. The condition worsened to the point where she couldn’t sleep, and continuing performances without immediate treatment became unrealistic.
With no time to return to Korea for proper care, she ultimately had no choice but to undergo the procedure mid-tour, even though pulling the tooth out wasn’t the ideal response.
I suddenly had to get a tooth pulled in Chicago, and it hasn’t been long since I had it removed, so my left side is still swollen today… Please understand if my face looks really puffy.

At the Chicago concert, my tooth hurt so badly that I couldn’t even sleep that night.
So in the morning, I went to a dentist in Chicago to get it checked.
It turned out that the area where I had a root canal before had gotten worse.
To properly treat it, I would have needed to go back to Korea, but realistically, I still had over a week left before returning—and even then, I wouldn’t have had time to get treatment.
The pain was so intense that even with painkillers, I didn’t think I could keep performing until I got back to Korea…
So I had no choice but to get it extracted.

Originally, it wasn’t a tooth that needed to be pulled…
But since I couldn’t go back to Korea, and root canal treatment isn’t something that can be done in just one day, I didn’t have enough time.
I still had to perform, so after thinking it over with the dentist, I decided to have it removed…

This comes as other members, including Dahyun and Chaeyoung, have also missed shows due to health issues. The situation has fueled growing concern among fans, with many questioning JYP Entertainment’s management of the group’s schedule.

- “This isn’t just upsetting… it actually makes me angry.”
- “This is seriously too much… I feel so bad.”
- “No, but seriously, this is too much… They’re in their 20s, not in their 60s or 70s getting teeth pulled.”
- “Isn’t this, honestly, abuse?”
- “Huh? This is seriously too much.”
