A female idol is returning to her original agency, Cube Entertainment, to nurture rookie idols. Drawing on her experience as a singer and actress, she is transforming into a creative director to support the development of younger artists.
According to Sports Kyunghyang on the 14th, former 4Minute‘s Heo Gayoon recently joined Cube Entertainment and will be involved in the entire process of launching and training a new idol group.
Debuting in 2009 with 4Minute’s digital single “Hot Issue” and leaving behind numerous hits such as “What’s Your Name?” and “Heart to Heart,” she shifted to acting after the group disbanded, expanding her career across dramas and films.
Recently, Heo Gayoon gained attention for candidly sharing her personal struggles and time after 4Minute’s disbandment during her appearance on tvN’s You Quiz on the Block.

She revealed, “I’ve been living in Bali for three years” and explained, “As difficult moments piled up, both my body and mind became exhausted, which led me to leave.”
She also opened up about the compounded health issues stemming from prolonged psychological stress and career concerns, the abrupt end of activities without proper closure at 4Minute’s disbandment, and repeated audition failures during her transition to acting. Additionally, she honestly recounted how the sudden death of her older brother was a significant reason for settling in Bali and stepping away from the entertainment industry, attracting considerable public interest.
Meanwhile, Heo Gayoon’s return to Cube carries added significance as she takes on a leadership role for younger artists after diverse experiences as an idol, actress, and during her hiatus. With other idol-turned-creative directors like Lee Haein recently making their mark in the industry, there is growing curiosity about how Heo Gayoon will bring a fresh perspective to idol production.
