On April 20, Jisoo’s agency BLISSOO released a statement through law firm Kim & Chang, saying the controversy surrounding her brother is “entirely unrelated” to her. It also claimed she had been living independently from her family since her trainee days, with no knowledge of or involvement in her brother’s private life and no business, legal, or financial ties.

The massive controversy began when allegations surfaced online that the older brother of a well-known girl group member had been arrested on the spot for sexually assaulting a female streamer. His alleged wife then came forward publicly, alleging domestic abuse and physical assault, and shared photographs of bruising as evidence. Kim Jung Hun was subsequently identified as Jisoo’s brother.
