But they got through it together!

SECRET member Song Jieun and her YouTuber husband Park We got honest about the reality behind married life, revealing that their relationship wasn’t without its struggles.

Appearing in Sean‘s recent YouTube video, the couple reflected on the early stages of their marriage, admitting that things were far from easy at first despite their strong bond.

While Song Jieun described newlywed life as “fun” overall, she explained that the beginning of their marriage felt more like laying a foundation than enjoying a honeymoon phase. The couple intentionally spent much of their time focusing inward, working to build stability rather than going out or living freely.

Still, adjusting to married life came with unexpected challenges. One of the biggest hurdles, Song Jieun revealed, was the sudden loss of personal space. Unlike dating, where time together and time apart naturally coexist, marriage meant being together around the clock. For someone used to independence, that shift proved overwhelming.

One thing that really caught me off guard after getting married was that I suddenly had no alone time at all. When we were dating, we’d spend time together outside, and then I’d go home and have my own space. But marriage means being in the same space together 24/7.

Having time to sort out my thoughts and enjoy my own hobbies is important to me, so there were times I just wanted to be by myself. But I felt guilty even bringing that up. So in the early days of our marriage, I struggled a bit.

Meanwhile, Park We offered his own perspective, noting that while he initially saw their relationship as “perfect,” reality quickly revealed fundamental differences in personality and approach. From decision-making styles to everyday habits, even small disagreements began to surface across their daily lives. But instead of trying to “fix” or change each other, Park Wi shared that he learned to accept his wife fully as she is—something he described as a turning point in their relationship. From there, the tension eased, and their dynamic began to stabilize.

Now, over a year into marriage, the couple appears stronger for having gone through that adjustment period!
