BTS leader RM has gotten caught up in a controversy after reports emerged of his alleged problematic behavior in Japan.

On April 22, Japanese news outlet Shukan Bunshun published an exclusive report alleging that RM was repeatedly seen smoking in public areas while pub crawling through Shibuya.
The report claimed that during his recent stay in Japan for BTS’s ARIRANG World Tour, the BTS leader was spotted smoking at various venues, which were not designated smoking zones. A witness claimed that RM stayed at an establishment for three hours and left around 1 am. While leaving, his stepped appeared unsteady.
The establishment had no designated smoking area, but RM and his companions were allegedly smoking in the building’s hallway. At on epoint, a security guard reportedly approached his group to issue a warning.
Aside from smoking in prohibited areas, RM and his group reportedly tossed their cigarette butts onto the floor at their feet, which was later picked up by a female staff member.
This report has triggered severe criticism for the BTS leader.
