Park Ji-hoon is armed for war in The Legend of Kitchen Soldier

Debriefing us on TVING’s upcoming The Legend of Kitchen Soldier, the latest video teaser, poster, and stills call Park Ji-hoon (Weak Hero Class 2) to attention and send him rubber-gloved to face the heated battle on the kitchen front lines.
Thankfully, our hero is combat ready for whatever work is thrown his way, having toiled through most of his young adult life (thus far) over a range of laborious part-time jobs. Once he begins his army duty, Kang Sung-jae (Park Ji-hoon) proves his gumption by even excelling in the military recruit training. And sergeant Yoon Kyung-ho (The Trauma Code – Heroes on Call) is impressed by the performance records when Sung-jae is stationed at his base.
However, instead of continuing as a regular soldier, the decision is made by the branch superiors to re-assign Sung-jae and make him one of the army’s cooks. Our hero isn’t discouraged though and is determined to show everyone what he’s worth. It’s here that some kind of culinary sorcery kicks in and to the delight of everyone’s taste buds, Sung-jae is soon whipping out scrumptious dishes like a master chef.
Rounding out our story world, the promos showcase fellow military cook Lee Hong-nae (Aema) and lieutenant Han Dong-hee (Queen Mantis) as well, in addition to a special guest appearance by senior officer Lee Sang-yi (Bloodhounds 2).
The dining hall at TVING will open on May 11, with The Legend of Kitchen Soldier also unfolding its story over tvN’s Monday-Tuesday slot. The series has PD Jo Nam-hyung (Tale of the Nine Tailed, A Superior Day) directing alongside scripts penned by Choi Ryong (Sorry Not Sorry).
