She didn’t want anything to do with him.

BLACKPINK‘s Jisoo is facing renewed attention following reports that she personally paid a significant sum to have her older brother’s name removed from a project, further fueling claims that she had already distanced herself from him well before recent allegations surfaced.
The situation comes after her brother, Mr. Kim, became embroiled in controversy, including allegations of assault and attempted sexual misconduct. However, new reports suggest that any ties between them had already been severed prior to these incidents becoming public.
According to entertainment journalist YouTuber Lee Jin Ho, Jisoo and her family had already cut him off following earlier issues.

Questions recently resurfaced after viewers noticed Mr. Kim’s name in the ending credits of Jisoo’s Netflix project Monthly Boyfriend, leading to speculation that he may have continued working with her behind the scenes.

Lee pushed back on those assumptions.
“Some claim that since the show was released in March 2026, he must have been working with her until recently, but that’s not true. Filming took place from October 2024 to May 2025. That was when he was helping her. He temporarily acted like a representative while assisting her as her brother.”
He emphasized that the professional relationship ended entirely after controversy broke out.
“After the hidden camera scandal, he didn’t just lose Jisoo’s trust but also that of the entire family, and he was completely excluded from any work related to Jisoo.”
Lee also addressed claims that Jisoo’s brother held a formal role in her company, firmly denying it:
“He helped as a family member, not as a company representative. If he had acted as a representative, there would have been salary payments or equity transfers, but there is no such record. His name does not appear in corporate registry documents as an auditor or internal director. It seems Jisoo didn’t even want that as she registered everything under her own name.”
As for why his name appeared in the credits at all, Lee explained that it was due to earlier involvement during filming and that Jisoo later took action to correct it:
“The credits were included based on materials obtained during filming, and they were reflected as-is. When Jisoo saw the credits on March 6, 2026, she was reportedly very upset and shocked. She strongly protested, which led to his name being removed from the ending credits. Editing the finalized master version costs a significant amount, over ₩10.0 million KRW (about $6,750 USD). But Jisoo still requested his name be removed and even paid the cost herself. This serves as evidence that she had already cut ties with him before the sexual harassment incident.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Kim was arrested on April 15 on charges of forcibly molesting a female BJ after bringing her to his home. However, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office rejected the police’s request for a detention warrant, citing insufficient evidence. Adding to the controversy, a woman claiming to be his wife later accused him of domestic violence via social media.
In response, Jisoo’s agency BLISSOO Entertainment reiterated that the situation has no connection to the artist:
“The issues currently being raised are completely unrelated to the artist and BLISSOO. While the artist did receive limited advice and communication support from family members during the early stages of establishing the company, no family member has ever received compensation or participated in decision-making. Since then, the company has been operated entirely independently without any involvement from family members.”
