Singer and actress IU revealed her usual beliefs about love and relationships, explaining why she never mentions her boyfriend Lee Jong Suk in the process.
On the 23rd, a video titled “21st Century Project ‘WanSeong’” was posted on IU’s YouTube channel.
The video showed actors currently starring together in MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama Perfect Crown, gathering to share behind-the-scenes stories and various conversations.
The four maintained a warm, friendly atmosphere, having grown closer during filming. Immersed in their roles, they split into two groups: IU and Lee Yeon as the “Castle Beauty Team,” and Byeon Woo Seok and Yoo Soo Bin as the “Great Prince Team.”
Byeon Woo Seok recalled an ad-lib scene, saying, “It was really difficult because if I got the tone wrong even once, the character would fall apart.” He added, “Thankfully, we brainstormed ideas and hit on something by chance,” sharing the phrase, “‘Hey! Stay still!’”
Recalling another episode, Byeon Woo Seok explained, “In a scene with Yoo Soo Bin, things weren’t going smoothly,” referring to “The scene in part two where IU comes back from the exhibition.” IU chimed in, adding empathy by recalling directions like “Above the frame! Slightly to the side! Downward!”
Yoo Soo Bin, boasting about the deepening bond among the actors through filming, said, “The video was shot after we had been filming for some time, so the two of them became close, and their affection and love grew stronger.” In response, Lee Yeon joked, “So the initial love was this small,” and IU agreed, revealing her perspective on relationships: “When you truly love someone, you don’t really talk about it. It’s just there deep in your heart.” This confession seemingly explains why she’s been having a quiet relationship with boyfriend Lee Jong Suk.
However, Byun Woo Seok expressed the opposite view, saying, “These days, expressing love is really good,” and repeatedly shouted “I love you” toward Yoo Soo Bin, drawing laughter.
IU has been publicly dating actor Lee Jong Seok since 2022. The two reportedly connected through SBS’s Inkigayo in 2012 and are noted as a couple focused on their respective careers.
