Lee Jun-young swaps bodies with Sohn Hyun-joo in Reborn Rookie
by lovepark
The first teaser for JTBC’s office fantasy Reborn Rookie (previously Suddenly Intern) highlights its five leads as they all try to claim Choiseong Group as their own, and at the center of this conflict is Lee Jun-young (Pump Up the Healthy Love) and Sohn Hyun-joo (Your Honor).
The first introduction goes to Hwang Joon-hyun (Lee Jun-young) as he asks, “Is it fun having the world move as you planned?” He challenges someone off-screen and wonders what they will do if he decides to fight to the end and destroy the world.
In opposition to our fiery youngster is Chairman Kang Yong-ho (Sohn Hyun-joo). As long as he can protect Choiseong Group, he will throw away anything without hesitation. Despite his advanced age, he refuses to keel over and leave his precious company to anyone else.
Next on the list is Lee Joo-myung (My Youth) as Kang Bang-geul, but rather than go by her real name, she introduces herself as the new intern Casey Kang. Like her outfits — an all-black spy getup and a fancy evening gown — Bang-geul has two different sides, and if anyone reveals her true identity as the chairman’s daughter, she will make sure that will be the last thing they do.
Vying for the chairman’s position is eldest daughter Kang Jae-kyung played by Jeon Hye-jin (Mother and Mom). Resembling her father’s ruthlessness, Jae-kyung will do anything to protect the company because Choiseong Group is hers. She won’t let anyone steal it from her, especially not her twin brother.
Last but not least is Jin Gu (Moon River) as the chairman’s son Kang Jae-sung. He believes Choiseong Group is rightfully his as the “eldest son” and reminds his naysayers that historically the company has been passed down to male heirs. Though people seem to side with his sister, Jae-sung is confident that he will ultimately win.
Directed by PD Go Hye-jin (My Youth) with scripts penned by Hyun Ji-min (Pandora: Beneath the Paradise), JTBC’s Reborn Rookie begins its twelve-episode run May 30 in the Saturday-Sunday slot.
