Recently, boy group L5ST shared updates about their future activities.

L5ST, who originally debuted in 2024 with a digital single, announced their disbandment. The notice, posted in several languages, stated that while L5ST would end, the members would be “reborn under a new name,” and promised the completion of announced activities.

Just a few hours after this announcement, it was revealed that the group’s leader, Dojun, would not be joining the re-formed group.

In a handwritten letter, Dojun explained that though the group would return, he would not be joining due to continued issues with a herniated disc and shoulder pain. He added that doctors advised him to take an extended break from strenuous activities and that he would be retire after the upcoming activities.

“To. LOV3ST, who I cherish and love more than words can express,

Hello, this is Dojun, leader of L5ST. As previously announced, after the Tokyo live performances, L5ST will return to you with a newly reorganized lineup and image.

I also wanted to continue meeting all of you alongside my younger members with an even stronger and cooler concept. However, after this upcoming season, I will not be joining the group’s next journey. The cervical disc issues and shoulder pain I had been receiving treatment for over the years became much more severe starting last fall, and this past winter my doctor advised that I needed to stop engaging in strenuous activities.

The company and my fellow members also encouraged me to take a long-term break in order to prevent more serious injuries.

Even so, I wanted to create as many happy memories as possible with all of you, even if only for a little longer, so I kept running forward until now. In my heart, I wanted to stay with you until the very end, even if my body completely broke down. Every moment I stood on stage surrounded by your love was an eternal, joyful, and honorable time in my life.

But in the end, I think the moment I must accept has finally arrived. My body has already reached its limit, and for the greater growth of the members and the group I love, I decided that now is the time for me to support them from behind the stage.

L5ST’s Dojun will retire after the upcoming activities. I am deeply sorry to deliver such sudden news, and more than anything, I feel nothing but apologetic toward all of you, my beloved LOV3ST.

This decision was reached after a long period of deep thought and extensive discussions with my members and company. I will try to share more detailed thoughts with you during the upcoming activities.

Until then, I would be grateful if you could wait with understanding and warmth.

    I love you, LOV3ST.

    From. Dojun”

    — Letter

Dojun was previously active as a member of the group XENEX until his departure in 2023.

We wish the group the best in their future activities, and hope Dojun’s health only continues to improve.
