Singer Ailee and husband Choi Si Hoon opened up about another worrisome situation they faced during the in vitro fertilization (IVF) process.
Recently, a video titled “Second Transfer, Hoping for a Miracle This Time” was released on the couple’s YouTube channel.
The video showed Ailee and Choi Si Hoon preparing for their second IVF embryo transfer to have a child. Choi, who said it’s already been six months since they started IVF, shared, “The doctor said the embryo quality is really good,” adding, “We decided to try again this time, and if the results aren’t good, we’ll give the body time to recover and proceed slowly.”
However, an unexpected issue arose. Choi cautiously revealed, “I think I administered the injection wrong.” He explained, “The injection is supposed to be given once a day, but I accidentally gave it twice a day, morning and evening.” He appeared regretful, saying, “My wife is very worried, and I’m very concerned too.”
Previously, Ailee has faced several difficulties during the IVF process. After egg retrieval, she suffered severe abdominal bloating and constipation. She shared, “My stomach kept feeling swollen and full of gas; even when I took a deep breath, it felt like I couldn’t fully breathe.” Later, there was good news, with seven embryos successfully fertilized to day 5. But another problem emerged—the uterine lining wasn’t thick enough.
At that time, Ailee expressed her frustration: “The doctor said there were no injuries in the uterus and the test results were fine, but they didn’t know why the lining wasn’t thickening.” She added, “We’ve come this far, so I’m scared that this might cause another problem.”
Each time, Choi was a strong source of support. He comforted her by saying, “Let’s just think it’s thickening.” This time as well, after the transfer, he prepared perilla oil pasta and pork ribs to help nourish his wife.
Meanwhile, Ailee and Choi Si Hoon have been undergoing IVF treatment to have children after their marriage. Despite the challenging journey, many people are sending them support as the couple encourages each other and steadily moves forward step by step.
