A new summer romance is about to hit our screens starring Hwang In-yub (Dear X) and Hyeri (Friendly Rivalry) as reunited first loves in ENA’s Your Dream (roughly translated).
Joo Yi-jae (Hyeri) and Woo Su-bin (Hwang In-yub) were once high school friends who shared the same dream: to become movie directors. However, their relationship did not last, and now in their thirties, their paths have diverged. Yi-jae has become a reporter to make ends meet while Su-bin has accomplished everything she wanted as a successful director.
For Su-bin, Yi-jae has always been the 18-year-old girl who helped a lost boy find his dream. He even thanks her in his acceptance speech, mentioning how he kept his promise, and using a play on words, says that he will come visit her “now” (her name is a homophone to the word now). After making a splash abroad in the film festival circuit, Su-bin returns to Korea to help his first love, but rather than be moved by his romantic gesture, Yi-jae is flabbergasted.
Due to various life circumstances, Yi-jae has shelved her dreams and is now an eight-year veteran reporter. Unlike her younger self, she harbors a bit more scars, and seeing her first love return as if nothing happened only opens up old wounds. However, when Su-bin offers to make a movie with her, she decides to rekindle her passion and chase after her dreams one more time.
Joining our leads is Baek Sung-chul (Brewing Love) as aspiring actor Shim Yoo-gun. He also went to the same school as his seniors Yi-jae and Su-bin where he dreamed of a life on screen. Currently, he works part-time while filling out his filmography with background roles and continues standing in front of the camera despite his nerves.
Opposite our inexperienced actor is top actress Oh Ha-na played by Lee Yeol-eum (Dear X). Since childhood, Ha-na has listened to her mother Park Ji-young (Iron Family) who also happens to be her management company’s CEO. Though she has found success in her career, Ha-na dreams of forging her own path in life.
Also in the cast are Lee Sang-yub (Beyond the Bar) as production company CEO Seo In-wook and Lee Ji-min (The Winning Try) as dating show writer Choi Sa-rang. Directed by PD Yoo Sun-dong (Unmasked, The Uncanny Counter) with scripts by Jung Eun-bi, ENA’s Your Dream premieres July 13, taking over the Monday-Tuesday slot following Doctor on the Edge.
