They made the claim in court.

Ex-NewJeans member Danielle and her former agency, ADOR, locked horns in court on June 11, KST, during the second hearing of the lawsuit filed by ADOR against her, seeking contractual penalties and damages.
Danielle
While arguing in favor of ADOR’s claims, the company’s legal representatives remarked that Danielle was free to pursue her entertainment career and that there was no reason for ADOR to interfere with that. They stated that Danielle’s claim that the lawsuit was hindering her career was invalid, since all ADOR was seeking was damages.
Danielle’s side retorted, stating that ADOR had slapped Danielle with a lawsuit worth 100s of billion KRW, effectively making it impossible for her to sign with any other agency. They criticized the plaintiff, remarking that the lawsuit was just their way of hindering her career.
What agency would want to work with an artist facing such a massive financial liability? The very intent behind this lawsuit is to prevent Danielle from working. It is incredibly irresponsible to suggest she can just work elsewhere while a lawsuit is pending against her.

Danielle’s legal team also argued that ADOR was intentionally prolonging the lawsuit through litigation tactics, damaging trust even further.
The court will continue to review arguments in upcoming trials.
