Girl Group Members Finally Explain The Wedding Drama That Made Fans Think They Secretly Hated Each Other

This fueled their in-fighting speculations for years.

Jewelry members Seo In Young and Jo Min Ah have finally addressed the wedding drama that sparked long-running speculation about their relationship.

On July 1, Seo In Young uploaded a new video to her YouTube channel, in which she addressed the controversy surrounding her first wedding, during which Jo Min Ah was notably absent. For years, fans thought one missing wedding invite said everything. “People seem to think it was a huge deal that I didn’t invite Min Ah to my wedding,” Seo In Young said.

It turns out the issue began with one phone call before the wedding. “I married someone who wasn’t right for me the first time,” Seo In Young said. She then revealed that the comment hit especially hard because she had been grieving her mother’s death at the time.

Back then, Min Ah called me before the wedding and asked, ‘Isn’t this too hasty?’ I was hurt by that. At that time, my mom had passed away, and I wanted to hold on to marriage, at least. But when even Min Ah said that, I felt like I was going crazy.

Jo Min Ah then shared her side of the story, explaining that her concern came from a deeply emotional place. “The day before I called In Young, her late mother appeared in my dream,” Jo Min Ah said.

She looked as beautiful as I remembered, but she was crying. In Young had happily announced her marriage, but because I was worried, I couldn’t just blindly congratulate her.

Jo Min Ah also clarified that she did not intentionally skip the wedding. “People asked why I was the only one not congratulating Seo In Young,” she said, “but I really didn’t know where the wedding was being held. I couldn’t go because I didn’t know. It wasn’t that I was upset with In Young or hated her. I just couldn’t understand it.”

As the two looked back on the misunderstanding, Jo Min Ah apologized first.

Jo Min Ah: I was immature, I’m sorry.

Seo In Young: No, I was the one who was completely narrow-minded.

The conversation finally put years of speculation to rest, revealing that the so-called “wedding snub” was not about hatred, but hurt feelings, grief, concern, and a misunderstanding that spiraled in public.

Seo In Young previously went through a divorce after her first marriage. She is now set to marry Choi Ji Hoon, the CEO of content creative company NP, later this year.
