A K-Pop idol confessed to taking diet pills, even without her agency’s knowledge, while exposing the side effects of doing so.
On the 4th, the YouTube channel Hi Ssemi uploaded a video titled “Idols Live the Same Way (ft. Choi Yoojung).”On that day, Park Se Mi visited I.O.I member and soloist Choi Yoojung’s home and spent an honest time together.
During a meal with Choi Yoojung, Park Se Mi said, “On camera, I look really bloated. People also ask me why I look so thin in real life, but when I’m next to idols, I don’t,” attracting attention by confessing, “I took diet pills in my 20s.”
Choi Yoojung empathized, saying, “I tried them a long time ago too,” and Park Se Mi added, “Now the dangers of pills are well known, but back then they weren’t. I thought it was an advantage because taking pills suppressed my appetite.”
Park Se Mi continued, “One day, I decided to stay at a hotel with a friend. While I was washing up, I felt like someone was staring at me from the door, trying to harm me. For me, that was a side effect,” which surprised viewers.
Upon hearing this, Choi Yoojung recalled, “When I was a trainee, the company told me to lose weight, so I tried diet pills. I was at a normal weight, but they kept telling me to lose weight, so I was desperate and took them secretly from the company. Side effects included dry mouth, bad breath, palpitations, nausea, and dizziness,” evoking sympathy.
