Choi Dae Hoon may be enjoying another career high, but renewed attention on the actor has also brought his wife’s impressive past to light.
The actor is currently appearing as Sung Han Soo in SBS’s hit K-Drama Agent Kim Reactivated, starring So Ji Sub. The series surpassed a nationwide viewership rating of 20% after only four episodes, bringing fresh attention to its cast.
Choi Dae Hoon had already experienced a major surge in popularity through Netflix’s When Life Gives You Tangerines, where his portrayal of Boo Sang Gil, widely nicknamed the “Hak-ssi Ahjussi,” became one of the drama’s most memorable supporting performances.
As interest in the actor continues to grow, fans have begun revisiting his marriage to actress Jang Yoon Seo. What some may not have realized is that she had already built an accomplished career of her own before stepping away from the entertainment industry.
Jang Yoon Seo first gained recognition through the 2006 Miss Korea competition. After being crowned Miss Chungbuk Jin, she advanced to the national competition and was named one of that year’s Miss Korea Sun winners. She eventually met Choi Dae Hoon while the two were working together on the 2013 tvN drama Crazy Love. The couple married in 2015 and now have a daughter.
Jang Yoon Seo has not returned to acting since their marriage, instead focusing on their family. Choi Dae Hoon has repeatedly expressed his gratitude to his wife for supporting him through the more difficult stages of his career. In a previous interview, he acknowledged how much she had sacrificed while taking responsibility for their home and child. He also expressed his hope that she would eventually be able to resume her own career. The actor later revealed on You Quiz on the Block that the couple had struggled financially during the early years of their marriage. According to Choi Dae Hoon, he once asked his wife to wait 12 years while he established himself.
