Performing Four Hands, Two Sonatas with Song Kang, Lee Jun-young

Piano and music heal the soul in tvN’s latest character teasers for Four Hands, Two Sonatas, building a bond between this coming-of-age story’s two troubled teenagers: Song Kang (Sweet Home 3) and Lee Jun-young (Reborn Rookie).
In the outside world, the young Kang Bi-oh (Song Kang) has been showered with accolades as an up-and-coming talent in competitions. But it’s a suffocating life at home under the impossible expectations of his music-affluent family, including grandfather Jung Jin-young (The Apartment Job) and mom Yoon Se-ah (Love Me). And no matter how hard Bi-oh practices, he’s met with disdain for not being perfect.
Here, though, is when fellow pianist Choi Jung-yo (Lee Jun-young) transfers to the same arts high school and helps re-ignite a joy for music within the suffering Bi-oh.
Jung-yo (Lee Jun-young), on the other hand, is faced with a different kind of tragedy. Because while he never lost his love for piano, it’s implied that something happened to his mom and realistically it’s a risk for Jung-yo to continue pursuing music when there are bills to pay.
But even violist Jang Gyuri (When the Phone Rings) can see Jung-yo’s passion and prodigy in piano over the sequence. And, more significantly, Jung-yo finds encouragement from Bi-oh, who instills a new sense of hope.
Directed by PD Park Hyun-seok (Song of the Bandits, Forest of Secrets 2) with scripts by Shin Yi-won (Don’t Call Me Ma’am), tvN’s upcoming Four Hands, Two Sonatas will be taking the stage on August 29, following Spooky in Love in the weekend slot.
