Kim Soo Hyun has been cleared of allegations of sexual abuse of a child related to Kim Sae Ron.
According to an exclusive report from Dispatch, Kim Soo Hyun was recently cleared of charges under the Child Welfare Act, with allegations that he engaged in sexual conduct with a minor concluding with no further action taken. In addition, the additional allegations of sexual exploitation of a minor have also been concluded and no further action will be taken.
The Seongdong Police Station decided to not refer this case to prosecution. During their investigation, they looked into whether a relationship was present while Kim Sae Ron was a minor and whether sexual abuse had occurred. They concluded that the allegations made by Kim Se Ui and Kim Sae Ron’s family were false.
In particular, the audio recording shared by Kim Se Ui between Kim Sae Ron and one of her acquaintances in New Jersey, USA where Kim Se Ui framed a specific conversation as Kim Soo Hyun sexually exploiting a minor.
Acquaintance: But did you sleep with him after you became an adult?
Kim Sae Ron: Ha… the first time with [Kim Soo Hyun] was winter break of 8th grade.
Acquaintance: Wow, 8th grade?
Kim Sae Ron: Even that, when I think about it now, I guess you’d have to say I was taken advantage of.
The issue is that this audio clip was deemed fake, instead generated by AI. The Supreme Prosecutors’ Office’s Scientific Investigation Division discovered evidence of manipulation in the audio, citing differences in voice frequency ranges. In addition, the identity of the New Jersey acquaintance was never discovered, and it remains to be seen whether this individual is even real, or another AI generated voice.
