Actor Jeon Seung Jae has passed away after spending two years unconscious following a medical emergency while filming.
According to reports from the Korean entertainment industry on July 29, Jeon Seung Jae died at the age of 47. His funeral has been prepared at Shillakwon Gyeonggi Funeral Hall in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province.
His funeral procession will take place on July 31 at 6:00 AM KST.
Jeon Seung Jae suffered a brain hemorrhage in early 2024 while waiting to film the KBS historical drama Korea–Khitan War. He reportedly collapsed at a drama set in Suwon and was immediately taken to the hospital, where he underwent surgery.
The actor remained unconscious after the incident and continued his recovery for two years. Despite support from fellow actors and those around him, he ultimately passed away without regaining consciousness.
Jeon Seung Jae made his acting debut in 2004 through the film Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War. He later appeared in several well-known films, including The Recipe, The Good, the Bad, and the Weird, Haeundae, and Hello Ghost, often taking on supporting and minor roles.
He was also recognized by viewers for his appearance in Netflix’s The Bequeathed, where he continued to showcase his acting career.
