Dispatch has released a lengthy report responding to recent allegations surrounding actor Hwang Jung Min, after a woman claimed they had an affair and shared private messages and voice recordings online.
The controversy began when an Instagram account uploaded audio recordings, KakaoTalk messages, and posts accusing Hwang of leading the woman on before later portraying her as a “one-sided stalker.”
According to Dispatch, Hwang and the woman met in person just three times: on August 16, 2023, September 11, 2023, and March 14, 2024, for a combined total of five and a half hours.
Dispatch reported there was no physical relationship between them, stating they never held hands, hugged, kissed, or had sex.

The report says the woman was originally one of Hwang’s fans who regularly attended his movie stage greetings. Hwang reportedly remembered several regular fans and eventually invited them to have a meal together.
During their first meeting, Hwang allegedly joked, “It’s our first date… I should at least take you home,” and later spent several hours discussing his personal concerns.
According to Dispatch, the woman later viewed that meeting as the beginning of a mutual relationship, arguing that an actor would not normally discuss private matters with a fan.

The report also claims a casual conversation about a possible soju business added to the misunderstanding.
Hwang reportedly asked whether she wanted to design the label if the project moved forward. While Dispatch says Hwang considered it a casual conversation, the woman allegedly spent time researching the industry and expected the two to work together.
When the project never happened, and Hwang later began distancing himself, Dispatch says the situation escalated.
When he told me over the phone not to contact him, I was devastated. I stayed shut inside for 40 days and attempted suicide. I really liked him. My father found out, and after exercising, I gradually recovered around January 18.

The outlet reported that Hwang eventually changed his phone number and blocked the woman on KakaoTalk after becoming uncomfortable with her behavior. According to Dispatch, she then contacted his son, claiming Hwang had driven her to attempt suicide and demanding he unblock her.
I never imagined I’d message you about something like this, but your father wronged me and pushed me toward suicide. If he doesn’t want this to become news, tell him to unblock me and contact me immediately.

Dispatch also published several of the messages it says were submitted as evidence in Hwang’s stalking complaint.
The messages included repeated references to suicide, demands for an apology, accusations of emotional abuse, and one message saying, “Die. Die. Just die.“
She then sent him 78 messages in a single day — February 10 — between 11:05 a.m. and 9:04 p.m., totaling 6,119 characters.
Hwang did not reply.

According to the report, Hwang later agreed to meet the woman one final time in March 2024. During the meeting, he allegedly apologized for making her misunderstand the soju business discussion, asked her not to contact his family, and told her not to harm herself.

Dispatch claims the two continued exchanging occasional messages afterward because Hwang feared she might target his family or release secretly recorded conversations.
By May 2025, the actor reportedly decided to file a stalking complaint.
The outlet says Hwang submitted more than 11,000 characters of KakaoTalk messages, letters, suicide notes, a photo of a dead cat, and other materials as evidence. Dispatch also reported that the woman allegedly attended Hwang’s son’s school musical without informing the family, and later sent him a photo of the ticket.
While defending Hwang against the affair allegations, Dispatch also acknowledged he was “not a completely blameless victim.”

She allegedly sent Hwang a photo of a dead cat and of tissue stained with what was described as cat blood.
The outlet reported that his excessive kindness, unnecessary conversations, and drunken phone calls may have led to misunderstandings. However, it argued that those actions did not justify what it described as stalking.
The legal dispute between Hwang and the woman is ongoing.
