aespa‘s Karina has become the subject of body-shaming comments online after recent photos of the idol sparked discussion about her apparent weight gain.
Karina recently appeared at the airport alongside her fellow aespa members wearing a simple tank top and blue jeans, allowing her natural figure to be seen without the elaborate stage outfits idols typically wear.
While many fans praised her casual look, photos and videos from the appearance quickly spread to Xiaohongshu, where some netizens began criticizing her body.
One comment claimed that she stood out amongst the other members who are known to be small. Others criticized that her frame looked too bulky.
Other users targeted her legs, calling them thick.
The comments have since spread beyond Xiaohongshu, with international fans expressing shock at how harshly Karina’s body was being scrutinized despite her still appearing relatively slim.
