The decision comes after a turbulent few months.

Actress and television personality Kim Bin Woo has announced that she and her family will soon leave Korea to begin a new life in Bali.
On August 2, Kim shared the major update through her social media account, revealing that the decision had taken approximately one year to finalize.
According to Kim, the family spent months considering the move, gaining firsthand experience, and preparing before ultimately deciding to relocate. Kim added that the family still had an overwhelming number of tasks to complete before leaving Korea. For the remaining time, she plans to focus on clearing out their belongings, sharing what they no longer need, and approaching the move with a lighter mindset.
It took us a year to think about it, experience it, make the decision, and prepare. It wasn’t an easy choice, but before we get any older, and while the children are still in our arms, we want to take on a new challenge.
We’re moving to Bali soon!

The announcement immediately drew attention due to its timing. Kim has faced repeated criticism over her behavior in recent months, with two separate incidents earning her the unofficial “troublemaker” label among some Korean netizens.
In May, Kim was criticized after broadcasting a TikTok livestream late at night, reportedly making enough noise to disturb neighboring residents. The controversy centered on concerns about noise traveling between floors, a particularly sensitive issue in Korea’s densely populated apartment buildings. Viewers accused her of showing little consideration for the people living around her.

Only one month later, Kim found herself under fire again over a video filmed inside a moving vehicle. The footage showed Kim driving with one hand on the steering wheel while raising one leg onto the driver’s seat and dancing along to music. Viewers described the behavior as dangerously careless, arguing that the clip appeared to show distracted and improper driving rather than harmless entertainment. The backlash intensified after Kim responded to the criticism with what some viewers interpreted as a dismissive or sarcastic attitude.
Kim did not connect her upcoming move to either controversy. Her post presented the relocation as a long-planned family decision motivated by a desire to embrace a new challenge while her children are still young. Since she stated that preparations had already been underway for a year, the move appears to predate the recent backlash.
Still, the announcement that she is leaving Korea so soon after two consecutive controversies has inevitably attracted additional attention.
Kim Bin Woo married a businessman in 2015. The couple welcomed a daughter in 2017 and a son in 2018. Over the years, she has frequently shared glimpses of her marriage, parenting, fitness journey, and daily life through social media and television appearances. Her upcoming relocation will now mark a dramatic change for the entire family.
Kim has not yet revealed whether the move to Bali will be permanent, how it may affect her entertainment activities, or whether she plans to continue creating content from abroad. For now, she appears focused on completing the move and starting over with her husband and children, leaving behind not only their life in Korea but also several months of relentless public scrutiny.
