A fan attending the performance held up a sign reading, “Free NewJeans 💙🩷💛💚💜.” During the show, Jennie allegedly noticed the sign and pointed to it.
The interaction immediately caught fans’ attention, with some believing Jennie was showing support for NewJeans.

The group was involved in a lengthy legal dispute with HYBE and ADOR after attempting to terminate their exclusive contracts in late 2024. NewJeans has been unable to freely promote under the group name until recently, when the group returned as four members instead of five.

While many international fans praised the alleged gesture, others questioned whether Jennie was intentionally reacting to the message at all.
Others demanded that fans stop bringing NewJeans up to other artists altogether. Clearly, the alleged gesture has sparked controversy.
