Amid the leader and drummer Gunil’s departure from the group due to a personal controversy, band Xdinary Heroes has canceled their upcoming schedules.
On August 13th, the Summer Sonic 2026 official social media account announced the cancellation of Xdinary Heroes’ performances.

They stated, “We received a request from the agency to withdraw from the performance, so Xdinary Heroes’ appearance has been canceled,” adding, “We sincerely apologize to the audience who were looking forward to their performance.”
They also noted, “There will be no replacement artist for the canceled Xdinary Heroes appearance.”
Xdinary Heroes had originally been scheduled to perform on the Pacific Stage at Makuhari Messe in Tokyo on the 14th and on the Massive Stage at Maishima Sports Island in Osaka on the 16th during Summer Sonic 2026.
The announcement of their absence came shortly after Gunil’s departure from the team was announced on the same day.
Earlier, posts and call recordings circulated on social media and online communities, claimed to be from A, a former partner of Gunil. A alleged the voice in the recordings was Gunil’s and claimed he used abusive and derogatory language towards fans.
Alleged Reasons For Gunil Leaving Xdinary Heroes Spark Fury About Departure
In response, JYP Entertainment announced, “We deeply recognize the gravity of the situation regarding member Gunil, and after extensive discussions with the artist, we concluded that continuing group activities together is no longer feasible, so we mutually agreed to terminate the contract.”
They added, “As of today, Gunil has officially left Xdinary Heroes and ended his activities with the group.”
With the sudden departure of the leader and the cancellation of scheduled overseas festival appearances, Xdinary Heroes will face significant changes for the time being. The group plans to continue activities as a five-member unit going forward.
