Ryu Joon-yeol becomes the imposter in Mousetrap

The newest trailer for Netflix’s mystery thriller Mousetrap has Ryu Joon-yeol (The 8 Show) facing against an unknown enemy trying to steal everything from him, and the only one who can help is the very man that caused him to hide in the first place.
“Who are you?” the trailer begins as Je Moon-jae (Ryu Joon-yeol) stares up at a face eerily similar to his own. The mysterious doppelganger asks if it isn’t obvious and replies, “It’s me. You.” While Moon-jae was hiding away to avoid paying his debts, his life as a reclusive author turned out to be a trap — one meant to strip him of everything, including his identity.
Moon-jae starts to realize something is wrong when his fingerprint no longer works for his banking app, and when he goes in person to identify himself, he has nothing to prove it. It feels like the whole world has turned their backs on him, but the person Moon-jae least wanted to see may actually be his last hope: loan shark No-ja, played by Sol Kyung-gu (Hyper Knife).
No-ja has waited three years for Moon-jae to finally show his face, and he immediately greets him with a bat to the head, demanding his money. However, the current Moon-jae has no access to his accounts, so if No-ja wants any of it back, then he has no other choice than to help Moon-jae find the imposter.
As our hero begins to chase after himself, more people get tangled up in this game of lies, including Detective Soon-yong — played by Lee Kyu-hyung (Kick Kick Kick Kick) — who wonders how he even got involved in this mess. With the stakes rising, Kim Sung-oh (Shin’s Project) warns the others that they might all die at this rate, and the longer it takes them to prove who is real, the deeper they fall into the imposter’s traps.
Directed by PD Kim Hong-sun (Dear Hongrang) and written by Lee Jae-gon (A Model Family), Netflix drops all ten episodes of Mousetrap on Friday, August 28.
