An agency’s actions following their artist’s military enlistment has caused an uproar among fans, and they have now provided a response.
Recently, all posts on actor Lee Jun Young‘s Instagram account from before his enlistment disappeared, causing curiosity among fans.
Only two posts related to the upcoming tvN drama Four Hands, Two Sonatas, premiering on August 29th, remained on his account.
Lee Jun Young enlisted as an active-duty soldier in the army on the 21st of last month and is now undergoing training at the boot camp. This has led some fans to speculate that the decision was not Lee Jun Young’s own but was made by the agency managing his accounts.
Fans commented with dissatisfaction such as, “Where did the posts go?“, “There are so many requests to restore the posts. They need to be put back soon,” “He’s not coming out of the military anytime soon, so why are they taking down posts now?“, “What is the agency doing? Give us back the feed. Is Four Hands, Two Sonatas the only work on his resume?”
On the 24th, Lee Jun Young’s side told a media outlet regarding his social media account, “It is currently undergoing a renewal process and will be restored gradually. This is part of communication with the artist before his enlistment.”
Following the official response, posts have been restored on Lee Jun Young’s account.
Born in 1997, Lee Jun Young began his entertainment career as a member of the group U-KISS in 2014. He has appeared in dramas like Avengers Social Club, D.P., Mask Girl, Weak Hero Class 2, and When Life Gives You Tangerines.
Before enlisting, he completed filming for the dramas Four Hands, Two Sonatas, Our Sticky Love, and the film Handwritten, soothing fans’ regrets.
