Gov’t Official Files Federal Complaint Related To GOT7 Jackson Wang’s Upcoming Concert

The target is not Jackson, but the system.

Since last year, GOT7′s Jackson Wang has been on his Magic Man 2 world tour, first completing dates in Asia.

In December 2025, the idol announced that his tour would continue into the following year, visiting North America, South America, and many other locations. His tour of the Americas is currently set to take place in March and April, featuring dates in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, and Chile.

Jackson often goes viral for the most random things, but this time, his inclusion in a viral issue was not expected.

Tickets for the shows have since gone on sale, with a surprising phenomenon occurring. When examining ticket prices for the date in Rio de Janeiro, the base ticket cost is shown to be significantly less than the attache.

The above ticket’s price is approximately $ 144 USD, with the service adding $ 254 USD to the total price and the “fee”. The “service” cost in this situation is likely related to the ticket being a VIP experience, which are usually more expensive. However, the fees are 27% of the base ticket price, an amount considered excessive.

The ticketing prices caught the attention of Guilherme Cortez, a state deputy of São Paulo, who commented that he would be bringing it up to PROCON (the Consumer Protection and Defense Program) and the National Consumer Secretariat, a federal government body under the Ministry of Justice that formulates, coordinates, and implements Brazil’s National Consumer Protection Policy.

While his understanding is not completely accurate to netizen’s complaints, Ticketmaster’s fees have been a subject of complaint across nearly every area the company is active in. Similar complaints, including those who want better transparency in what the various fees are for, have been made regarding concerts over all in Brazil, using Jackson’s as a spring point.

    • This isn’t “the market,” it’s abuse. A R$480 ticket turning into over R$4,000 because of a “service fee” and an invented package is a total disrespect to consumers. A fee cannot cost more than the ticket itself, much less multiply the price by up to 8x. That goes beyond any notion of a free market and directly enters the realm of illegality, since “service” fees that exceed the value of the ticket constitute an abusive practice, prohibited under Article 39 of the Consumer Defense Code. Bundling in disproportionate costs without real transparency unduly burdens the consumer. Fans are not production company investors!!! PROCON, SENACON, and the Public Prosecutor’s Office must urgently investigate responsibilities.
    • Some people didn’t understand that the more expensive “service” is the VIP package. But the point still stands—imagine paying an absurd service fee when the company provides a downright mediocre service. There is no logical explanation for a 20% service fee on top of the ticket price.
    • They took the term service fee and split it up just to charge it twice, for f*ck’s sake. That “fee” really gets me—because a fee for what, exactly? They don’t even explain it, they just shove an extra R$400 up your *ss. And on top of those extra R$2,000 in “service,” the so-called service is basically: “you enter the website and pay—that’s the service.”
