A Korean actress shared candid advice with a subscriber who was contemplating marriage, saying that the relationship isn’t just about two people.
On September 3rd, a video was posted on YouTube by Han Ga In, who listened to subscribers’ concerns.
In the video, a subscriber confided, “I’m about to marry my boyfriend of five years, but my future mother-in-law doesn’t like me. Even before marriage, she intervenes a lot and demands an allowance of hundreds of thousands of won.”
Han Ga In said, “I got married and lived with my husband. Marriage isn’t just about the two people living together. The relationship with the in-laws, as well as with one’s own mother, is much bigger than we think.”
She added firmly, “If you’re going to continue giving a burdensome amount as an allowance to the in-laws, it can become a burden for the wife. If it were me, I’d break up.”
Han Ga In emphasized, “I’ve seen many friends struggle more than expected because of their in-laws after marriage. Even if your marriage is welcomed, the relationship with your in-laws isn’t easy, so if you’re not welcomed from the start, you should reconsider.”
Han Ga In married actor Yeon Jung Hoon in 2005 and has one son and one daughter.
