Former T-ara member and actress Ryu Hwayoung is getting married today on September 12.
Hwayoung will tie the knot with her fiancé, a businessman three years older than her, in a private wedding ceremony in Seoul. The ceremony will reportedly be attended by their families, relatives, and close friends.
The couple reportedly met through an acquaintance before developing a romantic relationship. After building their relationship on trust and affection, they decided to get married.
Ryu Hwa Young first announced the wedding in April. At the time, she revealed that the couple would be getting married on September 12, 2026, writing that they had decided to “walk the same path together” and “become each other’s everything.”
She has since shared parts of the wedding preparations with fans, including photos with her fiancé and wedding pictures.
The wedding has drawn attention in part because of Ryu Hwayoung’s controversial history with T-ara.
She joined the group in 2010 but left in 2012 after a major controversy over alleged bullying within it.

Despite the controversy surrounding her time in T-ara, Hwayoung went on to build a career as an actress after leaving the group. She has appeared in K-Dramas including Age of Youth, Father Is Strange, Mad Dog, and The Beauty Inside.
Her marriage marks another new chapter in her personal life, but it does not appear to mean the end of her acting career. Hwayoung is reportedly continuing her activities after completing filming for an upcoming project.
