Red Velvet’s Joy attracted attention with her lean figure and shared her honest feelings about being evaluated for her beauty.
On September 11th, KBS 2TV’s music talk show The Seasons – Sung Si Kyung’s Ear Candy featured EXO‘s D.O. (also known as Doh Kyungsoo), Joy, BIG Naughty, and Kwon Eunbi, who delivered a variety of performances and candid conversations.
In particular, Joy kicked off the “Two People” segment with her first solo album’s title track “Hello,” radiating bright and refreshing energy.
Reflecting candidly on the upcoming return of Red Velvet as a full group, Joy recalled, “Two years ago was the time to renew our contracts, and I was very anxious, fearing the team might end.” But she continued, “I confirmed the members’ strong commitment and wanted to share that with our fans,” revealing the heartfelt sincerity embedded in the title track she wrote herself.
She also openly shared personal concerns. Joy said, “At twenty-nine, I was worried that if I wasn’t young or pretty anymore, people might stop noticing me,” yet added, “After turning thirty, I feel like I’m one year old again,” humorously defining herself as “a thirty-year-old baby.”
Joy, who enjoys reading fan letters, spontaneously performed Lena Park’s “I Will Write You a Letter,” an artist she deeply respects. She also revealed that her first successful audition was by singing Lena Park’s “I Hope It Would Be That Way Now,” adding a special connection.
Joy announced that, in addition to her singing career, she will be challenging new dramas and animation dubbing as actress Park Soo Young. The segment concluded with a sweet harmony as Joy and Sung Si Kyung sang “Cocktail Love” together.
