Their concert has come under scrutiny.

Netizens are wondering whether HYBE grossly overestimated their girl group ILLIT‘s popularity and demand after reviewing the current state of the group’s concert ticket sales.

ILLIT is set to take the stage at the iconic Inspire Arena, Incheon, for its PRESS START ENCORE concert scheduled for October 17 and October 18.

With less than a month left until the shows, netizens have become increasingly curious about whether the group will be able to fill the seats for both nights. According to a recent viral post on Theqoo, the group still has many seats left unsold across almost all sections at the venue, including floor seats.

The post left many netizens wondering whether ILLIT’s agency made a wrong move by booking Inspire Arena for the group, failing to gauge their real demand.

    • “That’s really unexpected…”
    • “I’m not really sure about this, but wouldn’t they be taking a loss at that level? There’s no full shot, so I can’t tell how full it actually is.
    • Even if you’re a loyal fan, it’s not easy to go to Inspire.”
    • “I like ILLIT’s songs, but aren’t they more the type you enjoy casually rather than pay to see in concert?”

    • “Even with canceled tickets available right in front of the thrust stage, nobody is snatching them up. They really must not be that popular…”
    • “All the spots will be gone soon; people at the company will see this post and buy them all up.”
    • “It’s surprising that there are that many floor seats left.”
    • “Back in the early days, getting to Inspire Arena was a barrier, but these days there are so many concerts there that people who want to go just take the shuttle and go. Even in cases where people were mocked for the venue being ‘half-empty,’ the floor section was sold out. This is the first time I’ve ever seen this much of the floor still unsold.”
    • “Doesn’t a group that’s popular with the general public usually fill out domestic concerts pretty well? Since their fandom is mostly made up of young girls, maybe it’s difficult for them to go to concerts?”

However, according to a later update, the group appears to have sold nearly 82% of the tickets. And with a few weeks left for the shows, it is not unlikely that they will be able to perform in a sold-out venue.
