Popular TV personality Jun Hyun Moo has made a rather shocking confession about the extreme lengths he once considered going to in response to malicious comments about his appearance.
During the October 25 broadcast of KBS 2TV‘s Boss In The Mirror, Jun Hyun Moo opened up about the harsh criticism he faced early in his broadcasting career, when he struggled with a public image of being “unlikable.” According to the star, even his nipples weren’t spared from the criticism.
The very first hate comment I received said, ‘Even his nipples are unlikable.’

Another commenter allegedly joked that his nipples protruded so much that he could hang a jacket from them. Although the comments might sound absurd, Jun Hyun Moo admitted that they affected him enough to seriously consider having his nipples surgically removed.
The broadcast that triggered the hate comments about his body.
They said even my nipples were unlikable, so I actually looked into surgery to have them cut off.

He revealed that he even consulted a doctor about the procedure, only to be advised against it because of the potential for excessive bleeding. “The doctor told me it wasn’t recommended because there would be too much bleeding,” he revealed. Jun Hyun Moo explained that the relentless criticism eventually pushed him to become much more conscious of his appearance.
No matter how hard I worked on broadcasts, people who didn’t even know me kept criticizing my looks. That’s when I started taking care of myself, getting hair removal treatments and other procedures.

He added that he felt compelled to change because people were openly saying they didn’t want to see him on television. His confession stunned those in the studio, including his close friend Um Ji In, who admitted she had no idea just how seriously he had considered the surgery. “I knew he had struggled with this, but I didn’t realize he had worried about it to this extent,” she added. Fellow television personality Kim Sook also sympathized with him, commenting, “Imagine how much it must have affected him for him to actually look into surgery. We can laugh about it now because it’s all in the past.”
While Jun Hyun Moo has since become one of South Korea’s most recognizable television personalities, his confession offered a surprising glimpse into how deeply even the most bizarre comments about his appearance once affected him.
