Culinary Class Wars has confirmed the production of Season 3.

Netflix’s variety show Culinary Class Wars features an intense culinary class battle between underdog “black spoon” chefs who seek to overturn the hierarchy solely through taste, and South Korea’s top star “white spoon” chefs determined to defend their status.

On January 16, Netflix officially launched the recruitment of participants for Season 3 through its official channels, marking the start of full-scale production.

While the first two seasons focused on individual chef battles, Season 3 will be a competition between restaurants. Regardless of cooking genre, teams of four chefs representing each restaurant can apply. Chefs currently working together in the same establishment will compete with their restaurant’s honor on the line in this new style of “taste” competition, promising to spark interest. Individual applications are not allowed, nor are teams consisting of acquaintances or ad-hoc groups from different establishments. However, teams from branches of the same restaurant name can apply together.

Culinary Class Wars topped the global non-English show charts for two consecutive years, Season 1 and Season 2, leading the culinary variety show trend. Season 2 especially intensified excitement with new, tension-filled challenges and rules that sparked dopamine rushes each round. It preserved the fun of Season 1 while captivating worldwide viewers with an even more “even” and thrilling survival format through innovative changes.

For Season 3, PD Kim Eun Ji and writer Mo Eun Seol, who led the success of Seasons 1 and 2, have reunited. PD Kim said, “We are sincerely grateful to viewers worldwide who have shown so much love through Season 2, enabling us to create Season 3. We will do our utmost to meet viewers’ expectations with newly developed composition and fun.” This statement raises anticipation for the upcoming season.
