A woman accused of being a mistress has sparked controversy by appearing on a dating reality show.
On an episode of JTBC’s Crime Chief, a tipster’s story was featured, revealing that her ex-husband’s mistress appeared on a dating reality program.
The tipster, a woman in her 40s who divorced her husband in 2022, recently saw on TV that her ex-husband’s mistress was on a dating show. According to the broadcast, the tipster divorced due to her husband’s affair and pursued combined divorce and alienation of affection lawsuits, winning the latter. However, she suffered greatly after being separated from her children during this process.
She said that after moving and living apart from her ex-husband, conflicts deepened. Through an acquaintance, she heard eyewitness accounts that her ex-husband was seen holding hands and linking arms with a woman at night. Later, she confirmed that the woman was an employee at her ex-husband’s business and that the two had traveled abroad together. The court ruled that both the husband and the other woman were responsible for the breakdown of the marriage, ordering them to jointly pay ₩30.0 million KRW (about $20,300 USD) in damages.
Some speculate that the woman accused as the mistress is a contestant on SBS’s reality show Co-Living Blind Date. However, through Crime Chief, she denied the allegations, stating, “This has nothing to do with me; I have never received any court documents. If unfounded stories continue, I will take legal action.”
Meanwhile, the dating show’s producers said, “Contestants sign contracts guaranteeing that they have not been involved in past social controversies such as crime, infidelity, or school violence, with penalties for violations to prevent concealing such histories. Despite this, this issue has occurred.”
They added, “We have repeatedly tried to confirm the facts with the contestant but have not received a clear response. Regardless of fact-finding, we will try to remove as much of this contestant’s footage as possible from upcoming episodes. We are also considering filing a damages lawsuit against the contestant.”
