Lee, who gained prominence as SBS’s 8th public recruitment comedian, confirmed in the video that his wife of 11 years had cheated on him, confessing that it had caused a complete “collapse” in his life. He continued, stating that he had attempted to take his own life six times due to the incident.
He recalled that painful period of his life, explaining that his family had to move to Goesan due to his son’s tic disorder, and that’s when his wife started working in real estate. “But her behavior became suspicious,” Lee added, explaining, “Credit card bills increased, and she kept telling me to go meet friends.” When he expressed suspicion, his wife called him paranoid and dismissed him completely.
However, Lee’s fears were confirmed through a location-tracking app. “An alarm went off in the middle of the night,” he recalled, “and I found out she had returned home after visiting a male colleague’s house.” He immediately rushed home, only to find his wife extremely intoxicated and passed out. When he checked her underwear, he noticed it was different from when she had left the house.
When Lee confronted his wife, she apparently claimed that she was running away from his verbal abuse, an accusation the former comedian firmly denied. He stated that his wife had fabricated the story to cover up the affair. The couple eventually got divorced.
Lee Seung Joo admitted that the divorce left him mentally devastated, but he decided to give life a second chance for the sake of his mother and his children. He worked tirelessly to get back up on his feet, taking up multiple jobs, including delivery work, while also working as a YouTuber.
In a surprising twist, Lee found his calling as a private detective and started pursuing it as a full-time profession. He has obtained a license and mainly works for victims of infidelity.
Meanwhile, Lee Seung Joo debuted in 2006 as part of SBS’s 8th public recruitment class and was active in the comedy show Gag Concert. He currently runs a YouTube channel that boasts 170,000 subscribers.
