Netflix has announced a new romantic-comedy starring Shin Hye-sun (The Art of Sarah) and Na In-woo (Motel California) as body-swapping love interests in the webtoon adaptation of Love O’Clock.
Shin Hye-sun plays variety show PD Cha Ju-ahn who lives and breathes entertainment. With her bulldozer-like personality, Ju-ahn charges ahead without thinking about the consequences, but that all changes when she crashes into tennis player Yoo Do-jin (Na In-woo). For an hour every day, their souls swap places resulting in plenty of fish-out-of-water shenanigans for both parties.
Yoo Do-jin is a famous tennis player with a promising future. He schedules his life with an obsessive precision, so when he gets trapped in Ju-ahn’s world where the word “control” does not exist, it comes as a shock. He must overcome the world of variety tv for an hour a day and learn to adapt to his new surroundings.
Joining our leads is Yoon Kyun-sang (Law and the City) as Do-jin’s agent and close friend Go Tae-hoon. Though his constant warm smile draws people towards him, Tae-hoon keeps strict boundaries and does not open up easily. However, he meets a variety show writer who destroys all his walls and causes the dating expert to experience his biggest crisis.
The aforementioned variety writer is Choi Mi-hyang played by Lee Joo-woo (Stealer: The Treasure Keeper). She is Ju-ahn’s best friend, housemate, and colleague with an honest, straightforward personality. As someone who has never dated, Mi-hywang thought her love cells had disappeared until she met Tae-hoon who revitalizes her romantic fantasies.
On the production side, both the director and writers are no strangers to webtoon adaptations. PD Kim Sang-hyub (Melancholia) worked on True Beauty as well as Extraordinary You, and the writers behind the beloved adaptation of Business Proposal, Han Sul-hee and Hong Bo-hee, are in charge of the scripts.
