The BTS member hosted a live broadcast on February 21 to communicate with fans candidly and also to offer them a glimpse of his new home. Notably, it was shortly after he got entangled in a controversy over his text messages with former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin.

During the livestream, the idol played many songs while talking to fans. Though he mostly went for jazzy songs, he suddenly put on “Look At Me Now” by Chris Brown. As the lines, “I don’t see how you can hate from outside the club/ You can’t even get in” played out loud, he gave a suggestive look at the camera before getting up and walking away from his chair. This moment was widely interpreted as him responding to the criticism and hate comments he received over the controversy.

However, many others called out the idol, labeling his actions as childish. Some also took issue with the fact that he was playing Chris Brown’s song, given his history of abuse and violence against women.
since likes are private, can we all agree he’s the official manchild in kpop https://t.co/YsS8y71rxs

Fans argued that V didn’t really name anyone or even specify any situation, so anyone taking offence at the song was simply self-projecting.
