In Taiwan, the conscription age is 18, and men are required to serve in the military for 1 year before their 36th birthday. In December 2022, President Tsai Ing Wen announced that the length of mandatory military service would be extended to one year beginning in 2024, after previously being four months.
Health issues can result in altered service or complete exemption; stars have been accused of using false health records to obtain this.

On April 1, Lollipop F member and actor Wang Zi, also known as Prince Chiu, was arrested at his home and taken in for questioning in handcuffs.

He admitted to paying a draft evasion group NT$330,000 (about 10,333 USD) to falsify his blood pressure readings to avoid enlistment after initially claiming he really had poor health. He was released on bail of NT$500,000 (around 15,656 USD) to await further investigations.
Prince Chu is the 3rd member of Lollipop F to be arrested for draft evasion.
