“Why do you always drag Korea into it, you idiots?”

Chinese actor Zhang Linghe is in hot water following a problematic remark concerning South East Asian people.

Top Actor Gets Called Out For Racist Statement Against Southeast Asians

However, many were unimpressed. The comment reignited the online feud between Korea and SEA after posts specifically addressing “East Asia” (instead of only China) went viral.

As usual, East Asia always thinks they’re superior to SEA. And then apologize after getting caught. Nothing new. https://t.co/UBzhbln4U6

Korean netizens reacted to the drama: Many felt that they were unfairly being dragged into the controversy. Meanwhile, others claimed that all Northeast Asian countries were to blame for treating SEA this way.

    • “Fight among yourselves. Why do you always drag Korea into it, you idiots?”
    • “Who even are you? Go fight at your own place.”
    • “Why are we suddenly being dragged into this? The best answer to Southeast Asia is to just ignore them.”
    • “People in Southeast Asia need to realize that Northeast Asia treats them like that across the board.”
    • “Just leave Korea out of it already, you empty-headed idiots.”
    • “They’re all Japan-obsessed weebs anyway lol. They probably firmly believe ‘our beloved Japan would never do that ♡.’ Just idiots.”
    • “So many countries are one-sidedly obsessed with Korea~~.”
