After one luxury sports car ride, came a sudden marriage proposal—and an even quicker friend-zone response. Kyung Soo Jin and Jang Keun Suk’s same-age friendship is giving viewers exactly the kind of variety show chaos they signed up for.

In the latest episode of tvN’s variety program Gugi-dong Friends, the cast members were shown sharing their sincere feelings with one another ahead of moving out.
During the episode, the members sat down for bibimbap as their final meal together. The mood was bittersweet as they tried to hide their sadness before eventually writing letters to express the feelings they had not been able to say out loud.
Jang Keun Suk wrote a letter to Kyung Soo Jin, his fellow “87-liner” friend, and hilariously addressed her earlier marriage proposal. “We may not be able to get married, but whenever you need a drinking buddy, I’ll come running,” he said.
The comment immediately drew laughter because Kyung Soo Jin had previously made a bold confession to Jang Keun Suk. After he helped fulfill one of her “bucket list” wishes by taking her for a ride in a luxury sports car, Kyung Soo Jin asked him directly, “Can we get married now?”
However, Jang Keun Suk’s answer made it clear that while marriage may not be on the table, friendship definitely is. Kyung Soo Jin pouted after seeing him smoothly dodge her proposal, but didn’t let him off too easily. When it came her turn to share final thoughts, she turned to her friend-not-husband and said, “Keun Suk, please keep taking good care of me.”
